Activity completion in Moodle - Coursepresentation /issue with Active Surface Mode
Hello,
in my case we work with Moodle, CoursePresentation + alot of Active Surface Mode.
One of the reasons we use the Active Surface mode so that we can manage the way people navigate through CoursePresentation, as well style it our own way.
But I bumped into the following issue.
To mark the activity as completed H5P plugin has 2 settings:
- When a student "visits" the activity
- When a student gets graded.
A known issue with the active surface mode is that since you don't have the summary page, a grade will never be registrated in Moodle Gradebook and therefore the activity will never been seen as completed. Since this setitng looks at the Moodle gradebook in order to be marked as completed.
You would think the issue will be solved when I do not use the active surface mode, but yeah we don't want the summary slide. And when we don't show the summary slide ór a student gets to it results in no grade.
Setting 1 "when a student visit the activity is probably nice in a lot of scenario's. It works, but then again it does not make sense in alot of other cases like this one, where we actually want that the activity is seen as completed when the last slide is visit.
I guess too make this work a slide tracking is required, and I believe that H5P coursepresentation is doing so, only not sure how this works when Activity Surface Mode is used.
Anyways.... so my new feature request suggestion voor Moodle plugin is
I would like to have the option to complete the activity when a student is on the last slide.
I can image then teacher would like the option to fill in a slide number instead of the last slide but in my case it does not matter.
But the nices solution would be that when you use Active Slide mode that when a student hits the last slide a grade still will be passed to Moodle gradebook.

Hi gemguardian,
Thank you for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! We’re now working on something called the H5P supporter program allowing the H5P community to vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then works on a feature they find interesting or useful.
Also please note that I created a report similar to these to H5P's core team.
