Course Presentation - no top menu bar in certain language (Swedish)

Hi,

Regards H5P version 1.20.2, and when using it in Moodle (3.8) and Totara Learn 12 (based upon Moodle 3.3.9).

When creating/editing a Course Presentation and using language Swedish (in Moodle/Totara), then the top menu bar (where you can insert text, image, video, interactions etc) is not visible. However, it does appear when using English. See attached printscreen.

Hi Rickard,

In order to give your bug report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  2. Any browser console errors
  3. Any PHP errors

If it worked before:

  1. Any recent changes to the environment (new plugins/modules, updates, configuration changes etc.)
  2. Any recent changes to the browser you're using (new extensions, updates etc.)

Hi BV,

1) All browsers, including e.g., Firefox 76.0.1, Chrome  83.0.4103.61, Safari 13.1
2) No browser console errors
3) No PHP errors

The recent change was upgrade of the H5P Moodle-plugin (and, we think, potentially including a new translation to Swedish - which was probably done by us, and could perhaps be the reason why Swedish language seems to be the issue for this bug).

Hi again,

We've now found out that Course Presentation (with Swedish lang) works fine when using the following libraries:

Course Presentation (1.19.3)
Course Presentation Editor (1.19.1)

It might also work with more recent updates, but it no longer works when the content type is updated to latest/following versions:

Course Presentation 1.21.7
Course Presentation Editor (1.21.5)

Thank you for the information. Sorry I only found this bug report today. The core team is aware of the issue and will find a fix for it.

Hi Jesper,

I wish I can give you a timeframe but I can't. The core team is all hands on deck in finishing the OER Hub. However it is in high priority is once they are done it's one of the first things they will try to resolve. It would be faster if someone decides to contribute the code from the community.

Hi BV,

we have updated the swedish language for that label that gives an issue.

Can you please releae a newer patch for course presentation, with our latest language fixies, then the problem is solved.

Updated Swedish lang in h5p-editor-course-presentation, changed the (too) long word "presentationsbild" into "sida" (for English "slide"). Hope that this will solve the issue.

Hi Rickard,

If I'm not mistaken this is the PR for the translation and it looks like it has been merged. Normally there are updates every 2 weeks so we should see your new translation once it has been released. I think this will resolve the issue.

Hi, we still have this problem, also after updating to latest version (1.22.0) of Course Presentation and Course Presentation Editor. In the language update we did June 8th, line 19 ("slides in English") was changed from "Presentationsbilder" into "Sidor" in Swedish (which should hopefully have solved the bug). But - "Presentationsbilder" still appear in the CP Editor - and the top menu bar is still invisible. 

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi srinivasanpgtkvs,

To provide a best possible experience for new users and to ensure that people use H5P.org only for trying out H5P (we've had more traffic than our server can handle lately, ref also the warnings when you create content, embed content and view the content) we are experimenting with which content types should be available here.

 

Check the getting started page for information on how you can use all the content types and use H5P for real. We unfortunately are not able to provide free hosting, only free software :) Hopefully you'll consider supporting the H5P Core Team by using H5P.com.

Tips/suggestions in posting in forums:

  • Refrain from using all capital letters as it implies shouting
  • Post in relevant threads or post a separate one
