Option to Choose Automatic Subtitles Activation or Deactivation in Videos

We propose a feature that gives educators the option to choose whether subtitles in embedded videos are automatically activated or deactivated by default. This would provide greater flexibility in how video content is presented, catering to different learner needs and scenarios. Educators could set subtitles to "on" for improved accessibility or leave them "off" to minimize distractions, with users retaining the ability to toggle them manually.

This enhancement will apply to all H5P-based videos integrated into the Interactive Book module.

We’re prepared to fund and implement this feature.

Hi csidirop,

Thank you for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! There are developers in the community who every now and then work on a feature they find interesting or useful.

Hi BV,

I am not sure if you read our proposal. But if you did, you would have noticed that we're already prepared to fund and implement this feature (and the others we've posted, including the other one you commented on with the same copy&paste message).
We have been told that we need to announce our proposals here so that they can gather votes and you can prioritise the PR merge later.

We believe that these changes will benefit all users of these modules :)

Best Regards
