H5P export text not formatting
Submitted by tomotsuyuki on Mon, 08/14/2023 - 06:22
Forums:
When we use "Exportable Text Area" in the "Course presentation", set rich text in the "Comments", and tick "Include comments in the exported document", the comments in the exported document loses its format.
I'm using Moodle 3.9, but I can see the same issue from Moodle 4.1.
I checked both library versions.
Course Presentation (1.25.5)
Exportable Text Area (1.3.15)
It used to work, and found it works with old versions.
Course Presentation (1.24.1)
Exportable Text Area (1.3.11)
It looks old version uses "doc", but newer uses "docx".
Is that a bug, or something changing specs?

Update request
Hi dev/support team,
Can you please review this issue and provide a fix? As mentioned in the initial post all formatting appears to be stripped out in the export of this specified content to the .docx format.
Kind regards,
Brad

Hi BV,
Apologies for the slow response, please see attached snippet of a .docx file that is stripped of formating when the "Export text" function is used.
I have also attached a snippet of what the text formatting looks like in the H5P activity itself.
Kind regards,
Brad

Hi BV,
Apologies for the slow response, please see the following snippets showing the text content as it is formatted in the H5P activity, vs how it looks when the context is exported out into the docx file.
Kind regards,
Brad

Any update on this query?
I would really like to use the exportable text function, but absolutely need some basic formatting like bold and italics.

+1 for me, too.
I'm experiencing this problem as well with my clients.
It would be good if we could get an update on this.

An update/fix would be great!
Screenshots attached show what I've formatted the export document to look like, and how it comes out.
