Cloning Content in LMS

Hello,

Using canvas LMS i'm wondering if it is possible to configure H5P to clone h5p content when a canvas course is copied.

So for instance if you had canvas course 1 that contained interactive quiz A. Then copied course 1 into another canvas course, course 2, you would still have the embedded h5p content, but instead of being quiz A, it would be a clone of A, here called B. So the final result would be that in course 1 you still have embedded quiz A, and in course 2 you have what appears the same embedded content, but is in fact quiz B.

I wasn't able to find any documentation or anything describing this, but wanted to make sure I wasn't just misunderstanding.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I am assuming that have a license/subscritpion with H5P.com.

Correct me if I'm wrong, what you want to do is copy the course with the H5Ps but instead of using the H5Ps from the first course it will be cloned as a new H5P. If this is the case I'm afraid this is not possible. Canvas does not send any information into H5Ps server when a course is being copied so H5Ps servers cannot be triggered to create a clone of the contents.

Do you know if this kind of behavior is possible in any other LMS?

That is correct. Do you know if this kind of behavior is supported in any other LMS?

Hi Nick,

It's not, because of 2 reasons. First an LMS does not need to inform the server of an LTI consumer in this case H5P for the course to be successfully copied. Additionally there are no automatic cloning of contents in H5P.com.
