Timeline problem (H5P plug-in on Moodle)

Details as requested: Desktop, Google Chrome, am unsure of version number but Moodle support assure me it is the most up to date version.

I am experiencing issues with the Timeline function. I created a Timeline within an interactive book and it was working perfectly and looked great. I then wanted to create a second Timeline on a subsequent page of the book. I followed all the same steps but when I clicked 'save and display' the page was blank. Going back into 'edit settings' the Timeline is there and can be editted, but when the page is viewed it is blank.

I then tried to create my second Timeline on the same page as my first Timeline. Now, when I view that first page, my second Timeline is visible and my first complete Timeline has disappeared BUT when I go to 'edit settings' it is my first complete Timeline that appears for editting. So the page shows something different when viewed to when being editted.

My Moodle support team have investigated but cannot help, my H5P is running on the latest version.

This is the fist time I have used the Timeline function and it was working perfectly but now it isn't. Can anybody help? Please?!

Hi Rachel,

There is a known bug in having more than one Timeline in Interactive Book. The developers within the H5P core team are already looking into this but we do not have a schedule yet on when the fix it will be released.

Thanks for your reply - I will try copying my original Timeline out of the book and fingers crossed it goes back to working again.

Hi there!

I am still facing the same situation as mentioned by RachelBeauchamp in 2021. When I include more than one timeline in my Interactive book Activity, the second timeline does not appear at all in the preview screen.

I just went through the last H5P release but didn't see anything related to this problem. Does anyone have an update about this issue? 

Ps : All suggestions to override this situation are welcomed !

Hi Sophie!

I fear that is not a restriction of Interactive Book, but a restriction of the original timeline code that was created by KnightLabs. That code was not designed to run multiple instances of a Timeline at once.

One could patch the original implementation, but that's something that somebody would need to find time to do. Not sure of the H5P core team wants to patch other people's code.
