Moodle H5P activity: add "require passing grade" option.

Hello,

at the moment you can't set passing grade for H5P-activity so students can pass the activity with any grade.  It would be great to see that Moodles H5P-activity had a new "activity completion" -setting "Student must receive passing grade" same setting that can be found f.ex in Quiz-activity.

Hi Jarvil,

Very good suggestion. This way we can ensure that the person taking the course understood it, rather than just finishing the course just for the sake of it.

This would be an excellent addition. We currently want to issse badges for completing an H5P question set but without the facility to set pass grades it requires a manual process of checking results & issuing badges.

This feature would make H5P SO much more useful within Moodle! By ensuring a H5P activity is only marked as complete if the learner achieved the passing grade, this would allow you to:

  • manage course completion with ease, using activity completion criteria rather than trying to use grades (which is currently impossible if the course contains more than one H5P quiz);
  • implement conditional progression based on H5P quiz results;
  • issue a digital badge based when a user sucesfully passes a quiz;
  • create single activity H5P courses;
  • (and probably lots more)

I'm amazed this wasn't considered an essential part of the original plugin. Fingers crossed this makes its way into the roadmap soon!

I'm afraid the core team has not created this feature yet. The good thing about H5P is that it is open source so you or anyone in the community can make the changes.

That would require the votes on JIRA to be relevant for prioritizing ...

I think a better approach would be to pool resources and to support the project.

There is a work around for this - create a label and set it so it can be manually completed. Then restrict the user's access to the label and make it depend on the grade for the h5p activity. In this way, when they hit the specified grade, the user can tick for completion.

This is not pretty, but it does at least work with out of the box Moodle.
