Record Yourself "this page is not served using HTTPS" error

When using this activity on the school wifi we get the following error message:

Access to the microphone is not allowed in your browser since this page is not served using HTTPS. Please contact the author, and ask him to make this available using HTTPS.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Hi nyree,

1. Where are you creating your contents (H5P.org, Moodle, Wordpress or Drupal)?

2. If it is one of the 3 supported frameworks is your site served over HTTPS? If it is on HTTPS you need to make sure that all contents of the site is served in HTTPS. A good example of this is if an image in the site is hosted somewhere that is on HTTP.

Hello

I'm embedding the content directly from H5P.org:       h5p.org/node/439013 and running the activity using a school wifi network.

The students tested it on a variety of browsers and the same error message appeared.

It works fine when I tested it at home!

Hi nyree,

Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the additional information.

Just to summarize the issue:

1. The contents are accessed directly from H5P.org.

2. This only happens when using the school's network.

There is some security protocol that the school uses that may be blocking the access to H5P.org. I would suggest that you get in touch with the school's IT department for further assistance.

All the other H5P activities work fine, it just the audio recorder.

Its not a big deal as we can record using other means.

Hi nyree,

The audio recorder is a bit "sensitive" in terms of webpage and network setup. This is due to current browser security measures trying to make sure that that cameras and in this case microphones are not accesed by somebody else.

I  have exactly the same problem, when I try the audio recorder on my phone (android / chrome browser).

The webpage, where I embed the h5p-activities, is https-secure (let´s encrypt), but the "audio recorder"-activity is not.

Can anyone please help?
