Privacy question

 Your FAQ states:  "It is not possible to make content private on H5P.org. If you want full control of your content types, have a go at using H5P in one of the supported plugins."

Currently we are using the h5p authoring tool and not a plugin. Does this mean that the videos we link to in h5P are somehow available to the public? Or are just the questions we are creating public?  Or neither?  If either of those are true, then how would the general public access and view these?  Again, I am referring to actual instructional CONTENT not the content type such as a Summary question.

Hi jdivince,

To better explain this I'll mention some key differences between having your contents here in H5P.org and hosting it using one of the 3 supported plugins.

  • If you have the contents here in H5P.org only you can make the changes if you are using a plugin you can customize the access of other user (i.e. Teacher - Create/edit contents).
  • If the contents are created in H5P.org anyone that has access to the internet can view and use your content but not edit it. Furthermore depending on your settings, users can also download/embed the content. If you are using one of the plugins you can set the contents to be available only to your chosen content (i.e. behind a username/password).

When I made my first presentation I received the message that others could see my presentation as well.  What I am wondering is how I can see others content that is publicly available as well (beyond the one or two samples in the tutorials)?

there is a way to browse through others work randomly

every content type made in h5p.org has an ID number in the end of the link and by changing this number you can see thousands of content created by H5P community

as you can see the number in this link bellow

https://h5p.org/node/10000

now try to type 10001 instead and so on

@biermac if you know the title of the content in most cases it can also be searched in Google except for the newer contents since search engines' robots don't visit all website on a daily basis.
