unauthorized access to micro

Good evening,

We have a problem with an H5P activities (speak the word) on moodle wich use the micro of the client. When we click on the button to record a sample, a pop up appears and stop the access to the micro.

Thank you for reporting this. 

In order give your bug report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Steps to recreate the bug
  2. Platform you're using: Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle (version number would be helpful as well)
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc (Version if available)
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type version
  7. Screenshots of the issue.
  8. Is this issue present on all Speak the Words activities.

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Thank you for the information.

Based on the pop-up message Chrome has blocked access to the microphone on that specific website. You have to allow the site to access the mic for the speak the words to work. You can read more about allowing the mic here.

Here are a few things you need to remember:

  1.  Speak the Words is only supported in Chrome
  2. Your site needs to be https not just http
  3. And you have to accept usage of the microphone
