Ability to specify a number of attempts
Hello everyone,
I think it would be very useful to be able to specify an exact number of attempts/retries for interactive contents (such as drag and drop or multiple choice). I am using H5P as a module in moodle 3.1, and as it is now, the only option for multiple attempts is "Enable Retry". However, when students receive grades for these activities, it is imporant to allow multiple attempts, but not infinite attempts. For example, I would typically allow 3 attempts for a drag and drop activity. If there are an unlimited number of attempts/retries, then the student can figure out the answer by trial and error.
Is there anything else I can do now, or does this need to be fixed another way?
Thank you for all these great resources!

Great idea. H5P's are generally a one-shot task at the moment but they can definitely be improved. This will require a bit of development. Hopefully community developers who have built a solution can share their code.

Hi criceket!
You write "If there are an unlimited number of attempts/retries, then the student can figure out the answer by trial and error."
Learning by "trial and error" is sound pedagogy, don't you agree?

+1 for this feature. As it
+1 for this feature. As it would allow our professors who do not agree with multiple guesses could also set 1 attempt.
