Interactive Video: Blackout Screen behind a Question?

HI, I am simply wondering if it is possible to blackout (or paint a color) the screen behind a question when adding interactivity within videos? In other words, the "noise" from the scene on the video behind the question is distracting. To clarify--I don't mean to change the color of the box of the question, but the background on the video screen behind it. Is this possible?
