Adding Custom Detailed Feedback to Interactive Videos in H5P

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working with H5P Interactive Videos and encountered a limitation with the feedback feature. Currently, the feedback for interactions only says “Correct” or “Incorrect.” I would like to provide more detailed and custom feedback to my users, especially when their answers don’t match ours.

For example, instead of just saying “Incorrect,” I want to provide guidance like:

"Your answer didn't quite match ours. Note the following:
Your first box doesn't match our answer. In propositional logic, how would you express the idea that the ladder is painted? (Hint: 'painted(ceiling)' expresses the idea that the ceiling is painted)
Your answer for the second box didn't match ours. That might be okay; our logic parser is somewhat weak. Check in the answer video to see if your answer matches ours."

And for a correct response:

"Thanks for completing that! Nicely done!"

I’ve reviewed the H5P Interactive Video tutorial and wasn’t able to find a clear way to add this kind of custom, detailed feedback beyond the basic “Correct/Incorrect” responses.

Has anyone implemented custom feedback like this for their interactions in H5P? Is there an existing workaround or customization option that would allow me to offer richer feedback to students? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Grace

Hi Grace,

Giving custom/detailed feedback depends on the content inserted within the Interactive Video. For example in Multiple Choice you place a custom feedback if an answer was chosen or not. It also provides an overall feedback based on the overall score.
