Game Map content type, possible mixed text & image stage?

Hi.

I'm trying to use the excellent Game Map, on some stages I simply need an image plus a paragraph of text underneath. No user questions or actions needed.

I can create a stage with an image, but no accompanying text allowed.

I can also create a stage with text, but no image allowed.

Is it possible to have both?

Thanks.

No, this is currently not possible.

The naive approach would have been to use Column. However, I wanted to include as many content types as possible without the need to wait for H5P Group to include or update them in Column (which unfortunately takes a lot of time and extra effort), so that’s why I included them directly. If I now also added Column, then there are two different ways to include the very same content type which means extra maintenance and restrictions – one cannot have two different content type versions as subcontent, so one would again be bound to what Column dictates. Not something that I wish for. Way too unflexible. Won't do that.

The alternative would be to include a Column-like in GameMap directly, and that's well possible. But I lack the spare time and while people love to get new features, they hardly ever take the initiative to pool funds, find a sponsor or similar.

Long story short: Will surely come, but don't ask for a time frame.

Thanks Oliver,

I appreciate all the work you put in to h5p.

As a workaround, I will probably embed the text within the image. Won't look as good but will likely be ok.

If you are interested, it's a "whodunnit" game in the style of boardgame "Clue" (known as Cluedo in the UK) , you as the detective visit all the rooms of the mansion, identifying suspects and clues to the murder, finally submitting your guess at the perpetrator/weapon at the final stage.

Sounds pretty interesting! Make sure to share, please!

Very interesting idea indeed ! Would love to see it in live when it's done :)
